About
Traditional art.
As in many aspects of human endeavor, in traditional art mankind seeks the Infinite.
Artists attempt to portray this elusive concept in relatively simple shape and form.
Ballancing the limits of shape and form by exploring its depth, quality and richness.
Seeking the Infinite amongst the constantly evolving diversity of the finite, will only to lead to frustration and exhaustion.
Traditional art does not reflect the artists problems or experiences.
The artist is always aware that he is not the creator, or the inventor of beauty, this artwork is beautiful because it follows the cosmic order and reflects a universal beauty.
In painting one must respect the flat, two dimensional static surface.
There must be no perspective, shadow, or movement unless stylisation integrates those elements precisely into the layout, making the movement essential, symbolical, and natural.
